Reconstruction of the
Etchilhampton Hill 26-07-2020 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed nonagon (regular 9-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up. Number the angular points clockwise 1 - 9, starting at the top.

3. Draw the diagonal of nonagon 2 between angular points nrs. 1 and 5. Repeat this eight times, for the other corresponding angular points.

4. Construct a circle (concentric to circle 1) passing through the innermost intersections of diagonals 3.

5. Construct a circle (concentric to circle 1) passing through the outermost inner intersections of diagonals 3.

6. Construct a circle centered at angular point nr. 1, passing through angular point nr. 2.

7. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 6 at the lower side.

8. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 5 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 7 at the upper side.

9. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 8 at the upper side.

10. Construct the circumscribed nonagon of circle 1, pointing down.

11. Construct the circumscribed circle of nonagon 10.

12. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of the lower side of nonagon 2 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 1 at the lower side.

13. Copy circle 12 to the upper intersection of circle 11 and the vertical centerline, and move this circle (copy and delete original) to its own corresponding intersection.

14. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 13 at the upper side.

15. Copy circle 8 to the righthand intersection of circle 14 and the horizontal centerline.

16. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 15 at the lefthand side.

17. Copy circle 6 to angular point nr. 8.

18. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the lower righthand intersection of circles 6 and 17.

19. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 18, pointing up.

20. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 19.

21. Construct a circle centered at angular point nr. 1, passing through angular point nr. 3.

22. Copy circle 6 seven times, to angular points nrs. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9.

23. Copy circle 21 eight times, to all other angular points of nonagon 2.

24. Copy circle 12 to the lower righthand intersection of circles 17 and 21.

25. Repeat step 24 eight times, to all other corresponding intersections of circles 6, 22, and 23.

26. Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circle 21 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 20 at the lower side.

27. Construct a circle concentric to circle 21, tangent to circle 26 at the lower side.

28. Copy circle 27 eight times, to the centers of circles 23.

29. Circles 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, and 28, are used for the final reconstruction.

30. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
