Reconstruction of the
Little Knoll 9-06-2017 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed pentagon (regular five-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.

3. Draw the five diagonals of pentagon 2.

4. Construct the inscribed circle of the pentagon enclosed by diagonals 3.

5. Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, passing through the lower righthand angular point of pentagon 2.

6. Copy circle 5 to the center of circle 1.

7. Construct the circumscribed pentagon of circle 6, pointing up.

8. Construct the inscribed pentagon of circle 6, pointing up.

9. Construct the inscribed circle of pentagon 8.

10. Copy circle 9 five times, to the angular points of pentagon 2.

11. Draw the connecting line between the intersections of the upper circle 10 and the upper two diagonals 3, as shown.

12. Construct a circle concentric to the upper circle 10, tangent to line 11.

13. Copy circle 12 four times, to the centers of the other circles 10.

14. Construct a circle tangent to the lower two diagonals 3, and tangent to circle 4 at the lower side.

15. Copy circle 14 to the righthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline.

16. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 15 at the righthand side.

17. Construct the "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the lower intersections of the upper circle 10 and circle 12 with the vertical centerline.

18. Copy circle 17 to the center of circle 1.

19. Copy circle 17 five times, to the centers of circles 10.

20. Construct five pairs of parallel lines, all tangent to circle 18, and each tangent to one of the circles 19, all at both sides, as shown. See detail.

21. Circles 1, 4, 10, 12, 13, and 16, pentagons 2, and 7, and lines 20, are used for the final reconstruction.

22. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
