Reconstruction of the
Bydemill Copse (Highworth) 4-08-2017 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Copy circle 1 two times, to its righthand intersection with the horizontal, and its upper intersection with the vertical centerline.

3. Draw the connecting line between the intersections of circles 2.

4. Construct the inscribed dodecagon (regular 12-sided polygon) of circle 1, with one angular point on line 3.

5. Construct the inscribed dodecagon of circle 1, pointing up. Number the angular points of both dodecagons 4 and 5 consectutively 1 - 24 clockwise, starting at the top.

6. Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, passing through angular point nr. 8.

7. Copy circle 6 to angular point nr. 1.

8. Copy circle 6 to angular point nr. 23.

9. Copy circle 6 to angular point nr. 21.

10. Copy circle 6 eight more times, to the other angular points of dodecagon 5.

11. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the righthand intersection of circles 6 and 7.

12. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the righthand intersection of circles 6 and 8.

13. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the upper righthand intersection of circles 6 and 9.

14. Construct the circumscribed dodecagon of circle 1, pointing up.

15. Construct the circumscribed circle of dodecagon 14.

16. Construct the circumscribed dodecagon of circle 15, with the mid-point of one side at the top of dodecagon 14.

17. Construct the circumscribed circle of dodecagon 16.

18. Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circle 7 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 9 at the near side.

19. Copy circle 18 four times, to the intersections of circle 15 with the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

20. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 8 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 6 at the near side.

21. Copy circle 20 to the center of the upper circle 19.

22. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 21 at the upper side.

23. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 12 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 11 at the upper side.

24. Copy circle 23 to the center of circle 21.

25. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 24 at the upper side.

26. Circles 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 22, and 25, are used for the final reconstruction.
