Reconstruction of the
Chute Causeway 10-08-2013 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular six-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing to the right.

3. Draw the two upper rays of hexagon 2.

4. Construct the inscribed circle of the triangle formed by the two rays 3 and the upper side of hexagon 2.

5. Copy circle 4 to its upper intersection with the vertical centerline.

6. Draw two lines from the center of circle 1 to the intersections of circles 4 and 5, and extend these lines upto the upper side of hexagon 2. Call the righthand intersection with this side point A and the lefthand one point B.

7. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through A.

8. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 7, pointing up.

9. Draw two lines, from A to the lower lefthand, and from B to the lower righthand angular points of hexagon 8.

10. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the intersection of lines 9.

11. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of the upper righthand side of hexagon 8 and line 9, tangent to the upper side of hexagon 2.

12. Copy circle 11 to the intersection of lines 9.

13. Draw the connecting line between the leftmost intersections of circle 7 and the lefthand sides of hexagon 2.

14. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of line 13 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 7 at the near side.

15. Copy circle 14 to the center of circle 12.

16. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 15 at the lower side.

17. Remove all redundant parts from lines 6 and 9, and from circles 10, 12 and 16, such that the shown pattern remains.

18. Copy this pattern (repeat all necessary steps) five times, from the top of hexagon 8 to the other angular points, while rotating around the center.

19. Circle 1, and patterns 17 and 18, together make up the final reconstruction.
