Reconstruction of the
Stonehenge (3) 13-07-2011 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the circumscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing to the right.

3. Construct the circumscribed circle of hexagon 2.

4. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 3, pointing down.

5. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 3, pointing up.

6. Construct a circle centered at the mid-point of the upper side of triangle 4, passing through the intersection of this side with the upper righthand side of triangle 5.

7. Copy circle 6 two times, to the mid-points of the other sides of triangle 4.

8. Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the upper intersections of circles 1 and 6 with the vertical centerline.

9. Construct a circle concentric to circle 6, passing through the center of circle 8.

10. Copy circle 9 two times, to the centers of circles 7.

11. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 8.

12. Construct a circle centered at the top of triangle 5, tangent to the upper side of triangle 4.

13. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of circle 12 and the upper righthand side of triangle 5, tangent to circle 6 at the righthand side. See detail.

14. Copy circle 13 to the top of triangle 5.

15. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 14 at the lower side.

16. Copy circle 8 to the upper intersection of circle 15 and the vertical centerline.

17. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 16 at the lower side.

18. Construct a (small) circle centered at the intersection of the upper side of triangle 4 and the upper lefthand side of hexagon 2, passing through the lefthand intersection of the same side with circle 1. See detail.

19. Copy circle 18 to the center of circle 1.

20. Copy circle 18 another twelve times, to the angular points of hexagon 2 and of triangles 4 and 5.

21. Construct twelve pairs of parallel lines, pairwise tangent to circle 19 and each of circles 20, all at both sides, as shown. See detail.

22. Circles 1, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 15 and 17, and lines 21, are used for the final reconstruction.

23. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
