Reconstruction of the
Guys Cliffe 10-07-2010 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the circumscribed hexagon (regular six-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing to the right.

3. Construct the circumscribed circle of hexagon 2.

4. Copy circle 3 two times, to the intersections of circle 1 and the vertical centerline.

5. Copy circle 3 to the righthand intersection of circles 4.

6. Draw the connecting line between the righthand intersections of circle 1 and circles 4.

7. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of line 6 and the horizontal centerline, passing through the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline.

8. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to line 6.

9. Construct a circle concentric to circle 7, passing through the upper intersection of circle 8 and the vertical centerline.

10. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 9 at the upper lefthand side.

11. Construct a circle concentric to circle 5, tangent to circle 10 at the upper lefthand side.

12. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 8, pointing to the right.

13. Copy circle 9 five times, to the other angular points of hexagon 12.

14. Construct a circle centered at the lefthand intersection of cirlce 9 and the horizontal centerline, passing through the upper intersection of the lowermost two circles 13.

15. Copy circle 10 to the righthand intersection of circle 14 and the horizontal centerline.

16. Construct a circle concentric to circle 14, tangent to circle 15 at the lefthand side.

17. Copy circle 7 five times, to the centers of circles 13.

18. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 5.

19. For clarity, some results of previous steps are left out temporarily.

Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 18, pointing to the right.

20. Copy circle 5 five times, to the other angular points of hexagon 19.

21. Copy circle 11 five times, to the centers of circles 20.

22. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 14.

23. Copy circle 16 five times, to the intersections (tangent-points) of circle 22 and circles 13.

24. Copy circle 14 five times, to the centers of circles 23.

25. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the upper intersection of circle 11 and the vertical centerline.

26. Circles 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 17, 20, 21, 23, 24 and 25, are used for the final reconstruction.

27. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
