Reconstruction of the
Tidcombe 16-08-2009 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed and circumscribed square of circle 1, both with the sides horizontal and vertical.

3. Extend the sides of the inner square 2 at the upper righthand corner up to the outer square 2, as shown.

4. Draw the connecting line between the intersections of lines 3 and outer square 2.

5. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to line 4.

6. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 5 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 1 at the lefthand side. Move this circle (copy and delete original) to the center of circle 1.

7. Construct the inscribed octagon (regular 8-sided polygon) of circle 6, pointing to the right.

8. Copy circle 5 eight times, to the angular points of octagon 7.

9. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circles 8 at the outer sides.

10. Construct the inscribed octagon of circle 9, pointing up.

11. Copy circle 5 eight times, to the angular points of octagon 10.

12. Construct a circle concentric to the rightmost circle 8, tangent to the righthand sides of octagon 10.

13. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 12 at the lefthand side.

14. Copy circle 12 fifteen times, to the centers of the other circles 8 and to the centers of circles 11.

15. Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the end-points of a centerline) between the center of circle 1 and its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline. Move this circle to the center of circle 1.

16. Find the leftmost circle 8 (a), its concentric circle 14 (b), the leftmost circle 11 (c) and its concentric circle 14 (d). Construct two "two-points" circles, one between the righthand intersections of circles a and b, and one between the lefthand intersections of circles c and d, all with the horizontal centerline.

17. Construct a "two-points" circle between the center of circle 15 and its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

18. Copy circle 17 four times, to the centers of circles 16, to the lefthand intersection of circle 8a (see step 16), and to the righthand intersection of circle 11c, both with the horizontal centerline. Number these circles 1 to 4 from left to right.

19. Construct a "two-points" circle between the righthand intersection of circle 18 nr. 3 and the lefthand intersection of circle 18 nr. 4, both with the horizontal centerline.

20. Copy circle 17 to the center of circle 19.

21. Draw two lines parallel to the horizontal centerline, tangent to circles 16 at both sides.

22. Copy circle 5 to the center of circle 18 nr. 1.

23. Draw the connecting line between the intersections of circles 22 and 11c (see step 16).

24. Draw two lines parallel to the horizontal centerline, tangent to circles 18 nrs. 1 and 4 at both sides.

25. Construct a "two-points" circle between the lefthand intersection of circle 14b (see step 16) and the righthand intersection of circle 18 nr. 2, both with the horizontal centerline.

26. Copy circle 25 two times, to the intersections of lines 23 and 24, and move both circles towards each other, to their own intersections with line 23, as shown.

27. Construct two "two-points" circles between the centers of circles 26 and their intersections with lines 24, and move these circles to the same, corresponding centers, as shown.

28. Construct a "two-points" circle between the righthand intersections of circles 19 and 20 with the horizontal centerline.

29. Construct a circle concentric to circle 19, passing through the center of circle 28.

30. Construct the circumscribed square of circle 29, sides horizontal and vertical.

31. Copy one of circles 16 four times, to the intersections of lines 24 and square 30, and move these circles vertically towards each other, to their own intersections with square 30, as shown.

32. Construct a "two-points" circle between the center of the righthand circle 16 and its lefthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

33. Copy circle 32 four times, to the centers of circles 31.

34. Repeat steps 18, 20, 21, 26, 27, 31 and 33 with respect to the center of circle 1 and the other circles 11, as shown.

35. Circles 1, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 20, 26, 27, 31, 33 and 34, and lines 21 are used for the final reconstruction.
