Reconstruction of the
Martinsell Hill 19-07-2009 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing to the right.

3. Construct six "two-points" circles (a "two-points" circle is defined by the end-points of a centerline) between the center of circle 1 and the six angular points of hexagon 2. Find the upper lefthand circle, and call it circle 3A.

4. Construct the inscribed circle of hexagon 2.

5. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 4, pointing up.

6. Construct the inscribed circle of hexagon 5.

7. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 6 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 3A at the upper righthand side.

8. Copy circle 7 to the center of circle 1.

9. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 8, pointing up.

10. Construct the inscribed circle of hexagon 9.

11. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 10, pointing up.

12. Construct a "two-points" circle between the intersections of the righthand sides of hexagons 9 and 11 with the horizontal centerline.

13. Construct a "two-points" circle between the center of circle 12 and its lefthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

14. Copy circle 13 to the lefthand intersection of circles 8 and 3A.

15. Copy circle 10 to the lefthand intersection of circles 14 and 3A, and move this circle (copy and delete original) to its own corresponding intersection.

16. Copy circle 13 to the lefthand intersection of circles 15 and 3A.

17. Construct the inscribed circle of hexagon 11.

18. Copy circle 17 to the lefthand intersection of circles 16 and 3A, and move it to its own corresponding intersection.

19. Copy circle 13 to the lefthand intersection of circles 18 and 3A.

20. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 17 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 10 at the righthand side.

21. Copy circle 20 to its lefthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

22. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 21 at the lefthand side.

23. Copy circle 22 to the lefthand intersection of circles 19 and 3A, and move it to its own corresponding intersection.

24. Copy circle 13 to the lefthand intersection of circles 23 and 3A.

25. Copy circle 20 to the lefthand intersection of circle 21 and the horizontal centerline.

26. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 25 at the lefthand side.

27. Copy circle 26 to the lefthand intersection of circles 24 and 3A, and move it to its own corresponding intersection.

28. Copy circle 13 to the upper lefthand intersection of circles 27 and 3A.

29. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 26, pointing up.

30. Construct the inscribed circle of hexagon 29.

31. Copy circle 30 to the upper lefthand intersection of circles 28 and 3A, and move it to its own corresponding intersection.

32. Copy circle 13 to the upper lefthand intersection of circles 31 and 3A.

33. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 30 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 26 at the righthand side.

34. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 33 at the lefthand side.

35. Copy circle 34 to the upper lefthand intersection of circles 32 and 3A, and move it to its own corresponding intersection.

36. Copy circle 13 to the upper lefthand intersection of circles 35 and 3A.

37. Copy circle 33 to its lefthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

38. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 37 at the lefthand side.

39. Copy circle 38 to the upper lefthand intersection of circles 36 and 3A, and move it to its own corresponding intersection.

40. Copy circle 13 to the upper intersection of circles 39 and 3A.

41. Copy circle 33 to the lefthand intersection of circle 37 and the horizontal centerline.

42. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 41 at the lefthand side.

43. Copy circle 42 to the upper intersection of circles 40 and 3A, and move it to its own corresponding intersection.

44. Copy circle 13 to the upper intersection of circles 43 and 3A.

45. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 15.

46. Copy circle 45 to the center of circle 35, and move it to its own upper intersection with circle 3A.

47. Construct a circle concentric to circle 46, tangent to circle 44 at the upper side.

48. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 46, with one angular point at the center of circle 35.

49. Copy circle 34 two times, to the other two angular points of triangle 48.

50. Copy circle 12 to the center of circle 35.

51. Construct two circles concentric to circle 46, tangent to circle 50 at both sides.

52. Copy circle 15 to the lower intersection of circle 45 and the lefthand circle 3.

53. Construct a circle tangent to circles 8, 15 and 52 at the inner sides, as shown.

54. Copy circle 20 to the center of circle 53.

55. Construct a circle concentric to circle 15, passing through the center of circle 53.

56. Copy circle 53 to the lefthand intersection of circles 16 and 3A.

57. Construct a circle concentric to circle 18, tangent to circle 56 at the righthand side.

58. Copy circle 20 two times, to the intersections of circles 55 and 57.

59. Construct a "two-points" circle between the intersections of circles 20 and 21.

60. Copy circle 53 to the lefthand intersection of circles 19 and 3A.

61. Construct a circle concentric to circle 23, tangent to circle 60 at the righthand side.

62. Copy circle 53 to the lefthand intersection of circles 24 and 3A.

63. Construct a circle concentric to circle 27, tangent to circle 62 at the righthand side.

64. Copy circle 59 four times, to the mutual intersections of circles 57, 61 and 63.

65. Construct a circle concentric to circle 25, tangent to circle 59 at the lefthand side.

66. Copy circle 53 to the upper lefthand intersection of circles 28 and 3A.

67. Construct a circle concentric to circle 31, tangent to circle 66 at the lower righthand side.

68. Copy circle 53 to the upper lefthand intersection of circles 32 and 3A.

69. Construct a circle concentric to circle 35, tangent to circle 68 at the lower righthand side.

70. Copy circle 65 four times, to the mutual intersections of circles 63, 67 and 69. See details.

71. Copy circle 53 to the upper lefthand intersection of circles 36 and 3A.

72. Construct a circle concentric to circle 39, tangent to circle 71 at the lower righthand side.

73. Copy circle 53 to the upper lefthand intersection of circles 40 and 3A.

74. Construct a circle concentric to circle 43, tangent to circle 73 at the lower righthand side.

75. Copy circle 12 four times, to the mutual intersections of circles 69, 72 and 74. See detail.

76. Copy circles 15, 18, 23, 27, 31, 35, 39, 43, 47, 49, 51, 54, 58, 64, 70, and 75 as a whole five times, to the corresponding positions with respect to the other circles 3, as shown.

77. Circles 8, 15, 18, 23, 27, 31, 35, 39, 43, 47, 49, 51, 54, 58, 64, 70, 75 and 76 are used for the final reconstruction.

78. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
