Reconstruction of the North Down 10-06-2008 formation
1. | Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2. | Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.
3. | Construct the inscribed circle of hexagon 2.
4. | Draw the six rays of hexagon 2, from the center of circle 1 to the angular points.
5. | Construct a circle centered at the intersection of the lefthand side of hexagon 2 and the horizontal centerline, passing through the intersection of circle 3 and the upper lefthand ray 4.
6. | Construct a "two-points" circle, defined by the endpoints of a centerline (diameter), between the center of circle 5 and its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.
7. | Copy circle 6 to the center of circle 1.
8. | Copy circle 6 to the lefthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline.
9. | Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 8 and the horizontal centerline, passing through the upper (and lower) lefthand angular point of hexagon 2.
10. | Copy circle 9 to the intersection of circle 7 and the upper ray 4, and move it (copy and delete original) to its own intersection with the opposite ray 4.
11. | Repeat step 10 another five times, with respect to the five other rays 4.
12. | Copy circle 5 three times, to the upper lefthand and righthand and the lower angular points of hexagon 2.
13. | Construct a circle concentric to the upper lefthand circle 12, tangent to circle 8 at the upper side.
14. | Copy circle 13 five times, to the five other angular points of hexagon 2.
15. | Draw the connecting line between the upper intersections of circle 10 with the upper lefthand and righthand circles 11.
16. | Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to line 15.
17. | Construct a circle centered at the intersection of the righthand side of hexagon 2 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to the upper righthand circle 12 at the lower side.
18. | Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 17 at the righthand side.
19. | Construct a "two-points" circle between the intersections of the upper righthand circles 12 and 14 with the righthand side of hexagon 2.
20. | Construct a circle concentric to the upper righthand circle 12, passing through the center of circle 19.
21. | Copy circle 20 two times, to the centers of the two other circles 12.
22. | Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of the upper and lower lefthand circles 11, tangent to circle 7 at the righthand side.
23. | Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the righthand intersection of circle 10 and the horizontal centerline.
24. | Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 23, pointing to the right.
25. | Copy circle 22 six times, to the intersections of the six rays 4 and the six sides of hexagon 24.
26. | Construct a (small) "two-points" circle, between the center of circle 22 and its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.
27. | Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the upper intersection of the upper lefthand and righthand circles 11.
28. | Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 27, pointing to the right.
29. | Copy circle 26 six times, to the six angular points of hexagon 28.
30. | Circles 1, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 25 and 29 are used for the final reconstruction.
