Reconstruction of the
Wexcombe Down 22-05-2007 formation

1. Draw a square, sides horizontally and vertically.

2. Draw another square, pointing up, by connecting the midpoints of adjacent sides of square 1.

3. Construct the inscribed circle of square 2. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

4. Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the endpoints of a centerline), by the center of circle 3 and its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline. Move it (copy and delete original) to its own righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

5. Construct a circle concentric to circle 3, tangent to circle 4 at the righthand side.

6. Construct the circumscribed circle of square 1.

7. Construct a circle centered at the upper lefthand angular point of square 1, passing through the diagonally opposite angular point.

8. Construct a circle centered at the upper righthand angular point of square 1, passing through the diagonally opposite angular point.

9. Construct a circle centered at the lower righthand angular point of square 1, passing through the diagonally opposite angular point.

10. Construct a circle centered at the lower lefthand angular point of square 1, passing through the diagonally opposite angular point.

11. Construct a circle concentric to circle 3, passing through the upper righthand intersection of circles 7 and 9.

12. Construct the circumscribed square of circle 11, pointing up.

13. Construct the circumscribed circle of square 12.

14. Construct the circumscribed square of circle 13, sides horizontally and vertically.

15. Construct the circumscribed circle of square 14.

16. Only circles 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 15, and square 14 are needed for the final reconstruction.

17. Remove everything not visible in the formation itself.
