Reconstruction of the
Westwoods (3) 9-08-2007 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed dodecagon (regular 12-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.

3. Construct a circle centered at the top of dodecagon 2, passing through the angular points next to the top, left and right.

4. Copy circle 3 five times, to every second angular point of dodecagon 2, as shown.

5. Draw a hexagram (regular 6-pointed star), by constructing two inscribed equilateral triangles of circle 3, one pointing up, one down.

6. Construct a circle, passing through the top of triangle 5 pointing up, and passing through the intersections of the lefthand and righthand sides of both triangles 5.

7. Construct a circle, passing through the lower angular point of triangle 5 pointing down, and passing through the intersections of the lefthand and righthand sides of both triangles 5.

(Circles 6 and 7 make up a Vesica Pisces).

8. Construct a "two-points" circle, defined by the end-points of a centerline, one of which coincides with the upper intersection of circle 7, the other with the lower intersection of circle 6, both with the vertical centerline.

(Radius of this circle is one third that of circle 3).

9. Copy circle 8 to its own lower intersection with the vertical centerline.

10. Construct a circle concentric to circle 3, tangent to circle 9 at the lower side.

11. Construct a circle concentric to circle 3, tangent to the lower side of triangle 5 pointing up.

12. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 8 pointing up.

13. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 12.

14. Construct a circle centered at the lefthand intersection of circles 1 and 10, tangent to circle 3 at the lefthand side.

15. Construct a circle centered at the lefthand intersection of circles 1 and 11, tangent to circle 3 at the lefthand side.

16. Construct a circle centered at the lefthand intersection of circles 1 and 8, tangent to circle 3 at the lefthand side.

17. Construct a circle centered at the lefthand intersection of circles 1 and 13, tangent to circle 3 at the lefthand side.

18. Repeat steps 14, 15, 16 and 17 each five times, relative to circles 4 in stead of circle 3, as shown.

19. Copy circle 17 to the center of circle 1.

20. Copy circle 15 to the center of circle 1.

21. Construct a circle (concentric to circle 1) through the inner mutual intersections of circles 3 and 4.

22. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 21, pointing to the right.

23. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 22.

24. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 23, pointing to the right.

25. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 24.

26. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 13, pointing up.

27. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 26.

28. Repeat steps 5, 6, 7 and 8, for circle 27 in stead of circle 3. Inscribed hexagram.

29. Two circles, making up a Vesica Pisces.

30. "Two-pointed" circle.

31. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 30 at the upper side. See detail.

32. Construct the circumscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 31, pointing to the right.

33. Copy circles 27 and 30 as a whole six times, to the angular points of hexagon 32.

34. Circles 1, 3, 4, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 25 and 33 make up all necessary ingredients for the final reconstruction.

35. Remove all parts not visible in the formation itself.
