Reconstruction of the
Chilcomb Down 22-04-2007 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Copy circle 1 to its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

3. Copy circle 1 to its lefthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

4. Draw the connecting line between the two upper intersections of circle 1 with circles 2 and 3.

5. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of line 4 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 1 at the upper side.

6. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 5 at the lower side.

7. Copy circle 6 to the center of circle 2.

8. Construct a circle concentric to circle 2, tangent to circle 5 at the lower righthand side.

9. Copy circle 8 to the center of circle 1.

10. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 9 at the upper side.

11. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 10 at the lower side.

12. Copy circle 11 to the center of circle 2.

13. Only circles 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 are needed for the final reconstruction.

14. Remove all parts not visible in the formation itself.
