Reconstruction of the Rollright Stone Circle 2-07-2006 formation | |||||
| 1. |
| Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines. | |||
| 2. |
| Construct the inscribed nonagon (regular 9-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up. | |||
| 3. |
| Draw all nine inner diagonals of nonagon 2 (to every fourth angular point). | |||
| 4. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the second set of intersections of diagonals 3, as shown. | |||
| 5. |
| Construct the inscribed nonagon of circle 4, pointing down. | |||
| 6. |
| Copy circle 1 to the lower angular point of nonagon 5. | |||
| 7. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 6 at the upper side. | |||
| 8. |
| Construct the inscribed nonagon of circle 7, pointing up. | |||
| 9. |
| Copy circle 1 nine times, to the angular points of nonagon 8. | |||
| 10. |
| Only circles 9 are required for the reconstruction. | |||
