Reconstruction of the 2001 Hill Barn formation 1. Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines. Circles and lines will be numbered according to the step they are introduced, so this is circle 1. 2. Construct a regular 12-sided polygon (dodecagon), with angular points at the endpoint of centerlines 1. 3. Construct the inscribed circle of dodecagon 2. 4. Construct an equilateral triangle inscribed in circle 3, pointing upwards. 5. Construct the inscribed circle in equilateral triangle 4. 6. Construct a square inscribed in circle 1, pointing upwards. 7. Construct the inscribed circle in square 6. 8. Construct a regular hexagon (6-sided polygon) inscribed in circle 1, again pointing upwards. 9. Construct the inscribed circle in hexagon 8. 10. Draw the diagonals in dodecagon 2, that intersect the sides of square 6 perpendicularly. 11. Construct a circle concentric with the other circles, passing through the intersections of square 6 and diagonals 10. 12. Draw two rays of dodecagon 2, as shown. Draw a line between the intersections of those rays and circle 9. (These are the points where circle 9 and hexagon 8 touch). 13. Draw also lines between intersections of square 6 and circle 9, and of diagonals 10 and circle 7, as shown. 14. Construct the circumscribed dodecagon of circle 1. 15. Construct the circumscribed circle of dodecagon 14. 16. Copy circle 15 four times, with the centers at intersections of vertical lines 12 and 13, and diagonals 10 with the horizontal centerline 1, as shown. 17. Copy the same circle 15 another four times, now with the centers at the intersections of the previous circles (16) with the horizontal centerline 1 on the right, as shown (so, they now pass through the centers of circles 16). 18. Copy all four circles 17, mirroring at the same time with respect to vertical centerline 1, as shown. 19. Copy all eight circles 17 and 18, at the same time rotating 90° around the center (of circle 1). 20. Cut away all parts of circles 17, 18 and 19 outside circle 5. 21. Draw a ray from the center of circle 1 to the intersection of two of the circles 17 and 19 (just outside circle 5), as shown. 22. Construct a small circle with a radius from the intersections of horizontal centerline 1 with the leftmost circle 17 to the next, see figure. 23. Copy this circle 22 with its center to the intersection mentioned in step 21.Extend ray 21 and copy another circle 22 at the intersection just created, as shown. 24. Copy circle 22 two more times with centers at intersections of vertical centerline 1 at the lower end and circles 9 and 11, as shown. 25. Construct a help circle concentric with, and in between circles 9 and 11, passing through the intersections of circles 24, as shown. 26. Copy two more circles 22, one at the intersection of help circle 25 and the lower part of vertical centerline 1, and the other at the intersection just created (with circle 25, on the right), see figure. 27. Construct another small circle with a radius from intersections of horizontal centerline 1 on the left with circle 5 and with one of circles 17, second from left. 28. Copy two circles 27, the first with its center at the rightmost intersection of circles 25 and 26, the other at the intersection just created (with circle 25, on the right), as shown. 29. Connect the rightmost of both circles 26 and 28 with tangent lines on both sides, as shown. Now all ingredients are ready to finish the reconstruction. 30. Leaving out all superfluous parts and making black areas as shown, finishes the reconstruction of the 2001 Hill Barn formation.
