Reconstruction of the
2001 Causewayed Enclosure formation

1. Draw a circle, draw its horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed 14-sided regular polygon, with angular points at both ends of the horizontal centerline.

3. Construct the inscribed circle of the polygon.

4. From the end-point of the horizontal center-line on the right, draw the diagonal to the angular point on the left, just above it.
From the lower end-point of the vertical centerline, draw three diagonals to the angular points of the upper right quadrant.

5. Construct a circle concentric with circle 1, tangent to the diagonal closest to the vertical centerline.

6. Construct two more circles concentric with circle 1, passing through intersections of the two "most vertical" diagonals and the "horizontal" one.

7. Construct a circle with the center at the end-point of the horizontal centerline on the right, passing through the intersection of the third "vertical" diagonal and the "horizontal" one.

8. Construct a circle concentric with circle 1, tangent to circle 7 at the near side.

9. Construct a small circle centered at the upper end-point of the vertical centerline, tangent to cirle 3 (at the near side).

10. Copy this circle to the intersections of the other inner circles and the upper half of the vertical centerline.

11. Construct, similar to circle 3, circles concentric with circle 1, tangent to the copied circles 10, at the lower sides.

12. Construct two equal circles, centered at the intersections of the vertical centerline and the lower one of the outermost pair of circles, and the upper one of the next pair. Draw the line connecting the intersections of these two equal circles.

13. Construct a concentric pair of circles, centered at the intersection of the connecting line of step 12 and the vertical centerline, tangent to both pairs of circles (at the near sides).

14. Repeat steps 12 ...

15. ... and 13 for the next couple of pairs of circles ...

16. ... and also for the others.

17. Copy all circles from steps 13, 15 and 16, at the same time mirroring relative to the horizontal centerline.

18. All circles from steps 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 16 and 17 together form the elements for the final reconstruction.

19. Leaving out all parts of these circles not part of the pattern, and making black all areas representing standing crop, finishes the reconstruction of the 2001 Causewayed Enclosure formation.
