Reconstruction of the
2001 All Cannings Bridge formation

1.
Construct a grid of squares, 15 wide x 4 high. Draw one diagonal of two vertically adjacent squares in the center of the grid.

2.
Construct a circle with the center at the leftmost common grid point of the two central squares and a radius determined by the intersection of the diagonal and the central horizontal grid line.

3.
Draw both diagonals of the leftmost square just above the central horizontal grid line.

4.
Construct the inscribed circle of this square (with the center at the intersection of both diagonals).

5.
Construct a small circle, centered at the leftmost end point of the central horizontal grid line, tangent to the inscribed circle (at the near side).

6.
Construct a line between the intersections of both the small circle and the circle in the center of the grid with the corresponding vertical grid lines, at the upper side.

7.
Construct six circles with their centers at grid points between both previous circles, and a radius each, also determined by the intersection with the corresponding vertical grid line and line 6.

8.
Copy the leftmost seven circles to grid points one above one to the right.

9.
Repeat this for the leftmost six of the copied circles.

10.
Construct a circle tangent to the rightmost two circles on the central grid row and tangent to the rightmost circle on the row one up, all at the near side.

11.
Repeat this for the three corresponding circles one row up.

12.
Copy all circles of the upper and second row together with the two circles 10 and 11, at the same time mirroring everything relative to the central horizontal grid line.

13.
Copy all circles obtained so far and mirror everything relative to the vertical center line of the full grid (through the centers of the vertical four squares at the center).

14.
Construct a circle tangent to the two horizontally adjacent circles at the center of the grid and tangent to both corresponding circles one row up, all at the near side.

15.
Repeat this for the four corresponding circles one row up.

16.
Copy both circles 14 and 15, while mirroring relative to the horizontal central grid line.

17.
Draw a rectangle through the centers of the larger circles three apart horizontally and four apart vertically at the center of the grid.

18.
Leave out the six full larger circles inside the rectangle and cut away all inner parts from the circles intersecting it. Remove all parts of the rectangle falling inside the latter circles.

19.
Make black all circles outside the rectangle and everything but the twelve circles inside it. This finishes the reconstruction of the 2001 All Cannings Bridge formation. This time, black stands for flattened crop.
